Massoud Memar

Massoud Memar is a colorful cineaste, photographer, journalist and poet. A man with a creative eye on the world. Born in Iran (1954), he worked for various newspapers and magazines in Teheran, in tens political times. He studied at the Film Academy in Paris. A political refugee, he has lived in the Netherlands since 1994, photographing protest, writing poetry and travelling to make films in places across the globe. From Kazachstan to Amsterdam.

Massoud Memar made films in Iran, Paris and Holland, winning a ‘Gouden ei’ (Golden Egg) in the section art video at the 5th Gorcum Film Festival 2002. Massoud won four prizes with his photography in both Iran and the Netherlands.

In 2021 Massoud published a three-volume collection of photographs “Women of the World”. His children's book: Pencils and the long story of forty fragments of the faces of Prometheus came out in ...
